Mitchie building a community shelter
About Mitchie

It started with a matchstick.

Growing up in Miami, FL, Mitchell was helping his mom hang plant hooks when she taught him a trick: if the hole is a little loose, stick a wooden match in first and it tightens right up. That small moment sparked something — an enthusiasm to fix things that never went away.

While studying for his Bachelor of Building Construction degree at the University of Florida, he spent his summers building houses to hone his skills. He found that working in the field beat wearing a tie any day.

When he moved to Eugene, he volunteered with Community Supported Shelters — then went on to design and build his own shelters and volunteer at the EGAN Warming Center.

Today he runs his own small business and serves his community directly, helping make your abode more comfortable, efficient, safe, and beautiful.

When he’s not on a job, you’ll find Mitchell dancing, cooking, kayaking, attempting to grow vegetables, or working on projects with others in the community he calls home.

Why Hero

What sets Hero Handyman apart

Formally trained
A degree in Building Construction means Mitchell understands your home structurally, not just visually. Most handymen can’t say that.
Licensed, bonded & insured
CCB #216798 means you have legal protection. Oregon requires contractors to carry this — not every handyman does.
Clear communication
We explain the work before, during, and after. No jargon, no surprises on the bill, no disappearing act mid-job.
Honest about scope
If a job is outside his scope, he’ll tell you and point you to the right person. No padding, no upsell.
